MAS Manage > Database configuration > Validate database connectivity for MS-SQL and Oracle databases for faster feedback to technical specialists

As MAS Manage officially supports MS-SQL and Oracle and many of EAM customers use MS-SQL or Oracle, it MUST support validating JDBC connection string for Oracle and MS-SQL. Currently, it validates database connectivity only for Db2, refer screenshot in attachment.

There are many points of failure in connectivity such as

  1. incorrect credentials

  2. incorrect permission to the user connecting with database

  3. incorrect syntax

  4. missing/incorrect certificate issue

  5. firewall port restriction

  6. mismatch in TLS version(s) supported by server and one specified in jdbc

  7. Any other driver parameters

  8. more...

which go undetected if JDBC connection string validation is skipped in the first place and it requires multiple cycles of visiting multiple screens, constant checking of maxinst logs or application deployment for rectification and correction.

This feature of validating connectivity is present in Cloud Pak 4 Data > Platform connections, refer attached screenshots. Do all Manage customers need Cloud Pak 4 Data?
