Hello Russ,
Thank you for taking the time to submit these ideas and for sharing your valuable feedback. Your input helped us evaluate several important aspects of electronic signature security, credential management, and user experience within Maximo Application Suite. While not all requests could be addressed exactly as proposed due to technical limitations outside application control, the feedback contributed to meaningful product improvements delivered in MAS 9.2, including LDAP-based electronic signatures and biometric authentication capabilities. These enhancements provide stronger security, simplified administration, improved compliance support, and a more seamless user experience. We greatly appreciate your engagement and partnership in helping shape the future direction of the product. Please Ref. closing remarks for each user story.
User Story 1 Closing Remarks: Unfortunately, there is no browser-independent way to completely prevent password-save prompts. Modern browsers and password managers may ignore application-level settings such as autocomplete="off" by design. While some workarounds can reduce these prompts, they cannot guarantee consistent results across all environments. The most reliable solution is for the customer's IT team to manage this behavior through browser or enterprise policies, which can be implemented independently of IBM.
User Story 2 Closing Remarks: We have successfully delivered a significant enhancement that addresses the electronic signature management requirements outlined in User Story 2. While the original request focused on providing administrators with greater control over e-signature credentials, the solution delivered with v9.2 Biometric authentication support for e‑signatures (Ref. https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/masv-and-l/maximo-manage/cd?topic=mobile-whats-new-in-maximo-92) goes a step further by introducing passwordless biometric authentication for electronic signatures. This approach not only addresses the email dependency and operational challenges identified in your requirement but also provides a more secure, efficient, and user-friendly signing experience for end users.
User Story 3 Closing Remarks: The original enhancement request for electronic signature password expiration has been successfully addressed through the introduction of LDAP-based electronic signatures and biometric authentication capabilities in MAS 9.2. This solution not only satisfies the underlying compliance requirement but delivers a more secure, scalable, and user-friendly authentication framework across the Maximo Application Suite platform. We appreciate your feedback, which helped drive a significant enhancement to the product.
Thanks you. We are currently reviewing this requirement with our team for possible inclusion in our roadmap.
