Warehouse Inventory Item to Item Transfer

Often in Asset Intensive operations, materials may be duplicated within the item catalog accidentally in 2 specific scenarios:

1) Accidentally be mis-identified at receipt and received as the incorrect item and not identified until a cycle count several periods later. 2) The item part # is superseded - since the item still fits the same "form, fit and function", it should retain the same item #.  However, the new part # gets created as a new item #, and now you have 2 items for essentially the same item.

Solution for this would be a transaction that allows a Plant/Store/Item transfer of quantity and value to the surviving item # chosen with or without value adjustment (in the case the item is received as a $10 part, but really its a $1,000 part).  This effectively would operate as an inventory adjustment against the Source item/store record and an adjustment to the destination Item/Store record.

These scenarios are a common occurrence in the mining industry where data integrity is a constant challenge and OEM vendors supersede parts on a frequent basis.
