Handling split shifts in the Graphical Display - Enhancement 2 – Provide the capability to show the shift split over two days.

Our customers routinely have shifts that stretch over two days.

Shift ABC Starts at 10PM on Day 1 and finishes at 6AM on Day 2.

The assignment manager does not split the assigned hours in two days, it assigns all the hours to Day 1.


Our customers are happy with this functionality as it matches their working practices.

Our customers are struggling because the Graphical Work Week (GWW) application does not have the same capability.

When the shift displayed in the GWW it shows it as a block on a single day e.g. Midnight to 6AM and 10PM to Midnight on Day 1.

The current picture is misleading and confusing.

If the software cannot split the shift then it should not split the assigned hours.


Enhancement 2 – Provide the capability to show the shift split over two days.

Showing the shift stretching over two days would be logical.

The shift should not be split into two separate shifts.

This should be visible in the Graphical Work Week (GWW) application and in the Assignment Manager application.

    Hi, thanks for that feedback, we are evaluating with the Manage Core team how to enhance the capability of Split a Shift over multiple days. We are promoting to a Future Consideration once we understand the necessity, but we need to make sure all teams are aligned with this necessity and we will be going over all applications that consume Shift and Assignments across multiple days. That requires the capability of the Work Period to get over a single day as it is on the Manage Core side.
