Hello, when answering some RFI for the Anywhere replacement by some other mobile client (we sure propose MX Mobile) the Gas Distributor customer requires following functionality for Gas Regulation Stations:
"by connecting the tablet with mobile client to the recorder (Datcom) at the Regulation Station, data from the recorder (Datcom) should be read from meters or from recalculators into the mobile application using the IR (USB or BT connected), precisely USB IR head HIE-04. Later data should be transferred to the Data Warehouse (e.g. temperature, pressure, etc.).
So, similar requirement..
Dear all,
Temperature sensor could be something built in in mobile device (not sure which vendors/models have them), or something connected to USB. I see, that Galaxy Active Tab Pro doesn't have it. So it could be issue. Also, some built in, could have pretty bad accuracy.
Yes, that could be recorded as some meter reading.
Dera all,
The idea was that the client said it would be good to capture temperature from device (tablet, phone) in the time when inspection form is entered. To have environment temp recorded as a result in inspection form or in separate field.
Thanks for your input, before accepting the idea, I'd like to have more details about:
- what kind of sensors you'll have? Temperature only? any other?
- which is the sensor vendor you're using and how it connects to the device?
And ... I'd assume you're thinking about capturing them as an inspection response or either a meter reading, right?
