Suite Home Application option for User

You should be able to set a Home application for a user at the Suite level. Once the user logs in, the "home" application would then be launched. This would be similar to the same concept that exists in Manage to default an application. In fact, the functions should enable you to chain those two actions together.

Further, when in Manage, if you accidentally click on the Maximo Application Suite text at the top left header, it takes you back into the "All Applications" home page. The suggestion here is that function should also be modified to take you back to your "Home" application. You can always get to the "home" panel on the right using the "All Applications" AppSwitch option if needed.

    Jordan, thanks for updating this as delivered in v9.2 with the extra information of where it was implemented. It is helpful to have the extra detail regarding where it was implemented.

    This was delivered as part of 9.2. There is now a global default application option in the User Profile>Preferences tab that will be respected on logging in.

    Hi Mark,

    Thanks for raising this idea. Up till now our general view has been that this seemed unnecessary given that all MAS resources are already directly accessible via URL. However the ask for a user specified default 'home' keeps coming up so I think it is time for us to explore the use case in more detail and figure out the right way to address it.

    So I'm accepting this onto our backlog. The final approach might not be exactly as you describe it here, but our intent would be to address the requirement in some a way that we consider aligns with the MAS design language.

    I will endeavour to involve you as a sponsor user.

    This would be great for a Manage self-service users. A standard self-service users would not necessarily know that Manage is where they need to go within the Suite. If they could be logged into Manage by default and then Manage directs the to the self-service application it would be great! Once logged in they would only see the application they care about eliminating training and confusion for users who rarely utilize MAS.

Create a direct URL to Manage and not open on the Suite navigation page when a user logs in.

This is what was possible for Maximo environments, thus users expect the same or better. The user should be able to have default navigation that will allow a default entry point to any dashboard or application, a start center, operational or cross...
