Support for Microsoft Graph API for IncomingMailAgent mail retrieval

There have been statements released by Microsoft that indicate legacy incoming email protocols (IMAP, POP) will be deprecated in future versions of Microsoft 365. They will be replaced with support for retrieving email via Microsoft's Graph API.

While the deprecation of IMAP and POP was slowed, our understanding is that the ultimate end result is to continue in this direction.

Supporting Microsoft Graph API for retrieving email via the IncomingMailAgent would benefit any existing customers who utilize offline forms and who intend to migrate their email infrastructure from their current solution to Microsoft 365.

Bradley, Thank you for taking the time to provide your ideas to IBM. Unfortunately, after evaluating this idea, we don’t believe it is feasible to use the graph APIs to replace email client data protocols (like, IMAP and POP). Thank you again for your feedback.

Hi Bradley, Thank you for taking the time to provide your ideas to IBM.

I need a little more information to understand your idea. We were unable to find the referenced Microsoft bulletin. Can you please provide a link to the Microsoft bulletin stating that they would be deprecating IMAP and POP protocols in favor of Graph API.

I look forward to your response. Thank you again for your feedback.
