Most customer of CLM will have multiple environments (DEV, QA, PROD). Periodically there is a need to populate/refresh DEV and QA environments with PROD data. The process to create backups of each database for each CLM application on PROD is straight forward. The painful part is after restoring those backups to say a QA environment, and then performing the Server Rename steps is highly manual, ton's of cut and pasting and if there is a hidden character/added space that can result in a bad Server Rename, which means one needs to start completely over. The first time I did this it took us 5 times to finally get it right with 2 IBM developers, 2 IBM support person, 1 IBM Professional Services and myself. My request for enhancement is to improve this process to be automated via scripts, maybe offer a user interface if need be, and to make it so one can do it right the first time, versus not. I have to believe that all CLM customers would find this very beneficial since we all need to do this multiple times a year, and the overall cost of failure and IBM resources having to support/fix/resolve those failures is very large.
