Bulk lock and unlock test artifacts with e-Signature in RQM

Users in RQM/ETM need to be able to bulk lock and bulk unlock test artifacts (test scripts, test cases, test suites, test plans) with e-Signature enabled.

The current auto-lock/unlock workarounds tied to the RQM workflow states are not sufficient alternatives that were solutions to an older enhancement that asked for very similar features (https://jazz.net/jazz02/web/projects/Rational%20Quality%20Manager#action=com.ibm.team.workitem.viewWorkItem&id=62051).

First, the auto-lock feature does not require an e-Signature, even when enabled on the project. Second, even if test artifacts are bulk locked with the auto-lock work state, there is no way to bulk unlock test artifacts. The auto-unlock feature is tied to the current RQM workflow state, and the work item must first be manually unlocked before the state can be updated, which is renders the "auto" unlocking useless.

There is no support in the RQM API for the e-Signature.

This would cut down on the number of times users need to enter their username, password, and message for the e-Signature, as well as saving users time by not needing to go into each test artifact to unlock them individually.

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
    Brand - Internet of Things
Product family - Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM)
Product - IBM Engineering Test Management (formerly Rational Quality Manager- RQM)
    Component - Usability

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
    Brand - Internet of Things
Product family - Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM)
Product - IBM Engineering Test Management (formerly Rational Quality Manager- RQM)
    Component - WebUI

Have you considered any of the following ways to prevent users from modifying test artifacts ?
-Customize the test artifact worklflow to prevent modification of approved artifacts and also to use eSignature as part of the approval process.
-Creating a baselineto create a read-only view of a set of artifacts at a given point in time for audit purpose.

If none of those approaches would work, could you please explain in which cases you need to use the lock/unlock feature?

Attachment (Use case): Proposed Solution 2-Enabling the locked state to be bulk updated from the browse test [artifact] view like other attributes. Clicking the green arrow icon would pull up the current bulk change window and allow a user to select "Lock" or "Unlock" from a drop-down list.

Attachment (Use case): Proposed Solution 1-Lock and unlock icons visible along the top bar of the table that displays RQM test artifacts. Clicking the icons applies the lock state to all artifacts currently selected.
