Ability to block automated creation of the Accounts

When we are loading the transactional data using the Universal Connector, the Accounts are created automatically if they didn't exist prior. We would like to be able to block this behaviour, because we would like to be in full control of the Accounts with the Setup Accounts file. We are automating the entire hierarchy creation process (from Groups through Locations to Accounts) and we don't want Accounts to be created without control - for example, if there's an error in our business logic and we try to load data into a non-existent Account (or there's a typo in the Account name), we would like it to yield an error instead of creating an Account. We are also aware there's a commercial impact of creating unnecessary Account, so we would like to avoid it.

    I agree that this functionality should be added. It is a risk for data to be erroneously added under an incorrect account number and then double count your data (accruals and actuals). Certain clients may wish to turn this functionality off in their environments.

    This is generic functionality and based on client feedback we opt to create accounts to ensure 'new' accounts are created and records are processed seamlessly without requiring a check-point or gateway. Creating a review process for new accounts creates delays in data processing and if left unaddressed will result in customers under-reporting data.

    If you would like to control and customize this functionality to suit your needs, you can do this by building a custom connector via Expert Labs.
