Allow customers to create and manage S3 credentials through Maximo Self Service

In our MREF SaaS environment, IBM provides an S3 bucket that is used for file exchanges and integrations with external systems.

Currently, when an external system needs to access the S3 bucket, we depend on IBM/SRE to provide or manage the required credentials.

We would like to have a self-service capability allowing authorized MREF administrators to create and manage S3 credentials directly through Maximo Self Service / Maximo Application Suite, without having to open an IBM support ticket for each request.

We have several external systems that need to access the S3 bucket provided with our MREF environment.

We would like to be able to create separate credentials for each external system and manage them ourselves.

For example:

  • External System A → dedicated S3 credentials
  • External System B → dedicated S3 credentials
  • Other integrations → dedicated S3 credentials

Today, creating or changing these credentials requires IBM/SRE intervention, which creates an operational dependency and requires additional support tickets.
