This portal is to open public enhancement requests against the products and services belonging to IBM Sustainability Software. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.
Welcome to the IBM Ideas Portal (https://www.ibm.com/ideas) - Use this site to find out additional information and details about the IBM Ideas process and statuses.
IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com) - Use this site to view all of your ideas, create new ideas for any IBM product, or search for ideas across all of IBM.
ideasibm@us.ibm.com - Use this email to suggest enhancements to the Ideas process or request help from IBM for submitting your Ideas.
That would work great! Glad to hear it's apart of the roadmap!
Thanks
Great to hear from you Jaskaran
This leads us really to another requirement that is already in our roadmap. The point is ... it's not that simple to add it to the response page mainly when we have a "list" of questions to respond. The known requirement is to have a "wizard mode" or as we call it "single question response page" where the entire related question information (including long descriptions, previous responses and the ability to add comments and photos) is presented all at once. Below is an example that we have under design currently that displays the question and options in the top ... and all related information (long description) below. As you respond, the question goes away and the next one in the list will them be displayed.
If this aligned with your expectations? Please confirm ...
Hi Vinicius,
The intent of the request was to have the ability to use superscript, subscript or bullet points directly in the question itself. For example, if you are listing out information required for the question, it should be displayed on the inspection form page as opposed to the information blob that can be clicked for each question to provide additional information.
Another example could be when you have question that requires a unit such as meters cubed, the ability to use superscript would be helpful to write that in directly in the question opposed to M^3. I believe this most easily done with the ability to use rich text directly within the question. This would also allow for greater versatility.
Thanks!
Hi Julio
If that's the case, it's currently available with Instructions. In the manage inspection forms, for each group and question you can click on the ( I ) icon that will open a rich text editor to associate the information. When executing the inspection, for the questions that contain instructions, the same ( I ) icon will be displayed for you to access that content.
Let's wait and see what's Ontracks's expectations.
Thanks
Hi Vinicius,
I assumed the requester was referring to the Questions and Descriptions on the Inspection Form to provide better information for the Inspector and not something the Inspector would enter.
Thanks.
Hi Ontracks
We need additional information about this requirement. When you refer to the ability of using rich text, where exactly you are expecting it?
1) as a "comment" option available on every question, that you can click and add at any point in time ?
or
2) as a formal response type, where you can create a question and explicitily say you're expecting a long rich text as a response?
Both is not a valid answer :) ... but 1st is an item that we have in our roadmap. Ability to add comments and photos to any question in the form.
I imagine RTF-related problems would be handled the same way as they are for long descriptions today. RTF in Maximo is not new..
If this is going to be added then please think about how to avoid rtf related problems e.g. tags appearing in reports etc
