This portal is to open public enhancement requests against the products and services belonging to IBM Sustainability Software. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,

Request for having status codes on Routes
As an Asset Operations Manager (AOM), I need to ensure that my PM generated work orders consist of my approved Job Plans and that Routes attached to the PMs contain the route stops I have chosen, so that I will know the generated work orders are correct.
Sometimes some of my assets are worn out and replaced with new ones and e.g., less power consumption assets are installed instead. Such work might initiate that I revise one or more Routes, so that new work orders are adjusted to match the new assets. As of today, nobody can see if a Route has been revised and it's not possible to see or track changes in the list of route stops.
Building new mega infrastructure also includes preparing for commissioning. As part of our BIM standard, we are collecting this data electronically during the design, project and construction phases and will preload this detail into Maximo, so that it is ready to be managed once the new mega structure needs to be maintained.
Most of the data being collected - Assets, Locations, Job Plans, PM(s) - can all be loaded into status draft or inactive until the records are approved and ready for O&M. However, this doesn’t apply to Maximo’s Routes. The Route object does not have a status to restrict it from being used on PMs or work orders even if it is not to be used yet. Without this restriction we cannot pre-load data into Maximo because we risk the Route being used before these Assets in the Route are operational. Maximo should only allow Routes, which are in status Active, to be applied to work orders or PMs.
Hence, I kindly ask to have Maximo Manage to have 1) a status code on Routes (like on Job Plans), so that I can indicate on each Route whether it’s in status “DRAFT”, “ACTIVE”, “INACTIVE”, “OBSOLETE” and 2) the possibility to provide a status change note (like on work order status changes). In addition, I kindly ask to have a history log on status changes as well; i.e., who changed from which status into which status at which time.

Status lifecycle control has been added to the Routes application in Manage and Manage CI 9.0 release. GA June 24, 2024.
Based on the description of the idea, we are considering adding Status control to Routes application in an upcoming release. This update will not include revision control but that may be considered in a future release after status control is delivered. This will be tracked in (https://ibm-ai-apps.ideas.ibm.com/ideas/MASM-I-947)
