Enhance Count-function to deal with zero-values such that Derived metrics don't show gaps when visualized on the dashboard

  • Problem Statement:
    • As a MAS Monitor user, I use the Count-function to count incoming messages to quickly identify whether enough data messages are coming in.
  • Observed behavior:
    • Derived metrics show gaps when visualized on a graph. The graph does not show all the data when the count has dropped to 0.
    • The Count-function is an aggregator and counts the data events in the aggregation intervals. The function is currently designed to only return a value when the corresponding aggregation interval contains a data event. Therefore, you can never get a count of zero in the calculated metric. As a result, he derived metric shows gaps when visualized on the dashboard.
  • Expected behavior:
    • Graph shows timeline up to the moment of opening the graph (at least) with the count dropped, even if the count is at 0.
