Currently, when a database user is created via the Self-Service Portal, it is provisioned with read-write access by default. If the customer requires read-only access, they must raise a support request to have the permissions adjusted manually.
To improve this process and reduce dependency on support, we recommend enhancing the Self-Service Portal with the following capabilities:
Access Type Selection at Creation:
Allow users to select the desired access level (read-only or read-write) during the user creation process, with read-only as the default option.
Post-Creation Access Management:
Enable customers to modify the access level (i.e., switch between read-only and read-write) directly from the Self-Service Portal without the need for a support case.
This enhancement would streamline user provisioning, empower customers with greater control, and reduce operational overhead for the support team.
