Data Archiving and Backup in mas saas

MAS Manage operational data store in MAS SaaS should not be ever growing datastore, as it affects performance of the application and storage costs. The data should be backed up and archived for reporting purposes and analytical purposes. Customers generally have requirements to keep certain years of data in active store, certain years of data in reporting store and certain years of data in backup storage and anything older should be marked for purging.
Additionally, we have several subprod environments that are sized smaller than our production, to make these useful we need to have a method for refreshing a subset of production data to the sub prod instances.

    There are 2 aspects

    • Customer (TMNA) is regulatory industry and needs to establish hot/cold storage for the MAS Manage DB (Db2) supporting archive/retrieve

    • As part of DEVOPS cycle there is need to have a subset of the production data base in lower level (DEV) due to the capacity of the DEV environment . The subset (e.g. 2 years worth)should be configurable to assist " back flow" allowing for patches and/or application updates/new function
