Improve Rhapsody connector routing via "connector points"

For "box" elements like classes/blocks/activities... there are many options available with grid lines, spacing tools, alignment... but when it comes to connector there is still a lot of manual work necessary to make a diagram "visually appealing".'

One source of this "uncleanliness" is that connectors connect to "boxes" at arbitrary locations - and cannot be easily aligned.

As example see the attached "ConnectorAlignmentX" screen shorts - depending on context the goal of the user is to have elements either explicitly connect at the same place - or explicitly connect at different places. Both cases require tedious "pixel-by-pixel" manipulation - and even then the result looks "unclean".

Proposed is to add "connector points" to the model elements - see the example of how it is done in the Web based graph editor gliffy (https://www.gliffy.com/) - attachment Rhp_SnapHandles.png .

There all UML shapes have typically 3 "magnetic" connector points at the each side that capture incoming connections.
(you can connect elsewhere if you really want to).
This allows to easily connect different model elements at a consistent location.

In addition in gliffy there is a central connector point with the semantic "use any and let the layout algorithm decide). This is also a very elegant way to let the user decide if he wants a fixed or flexible connection.

These connector points would be needed for all "non-line" diagram elements. For custom icons (like images) creating them automatically on the boundary box would be sufficient.
The number of them depends a bit on the shape - I would guess 4x3 for most elements and 4x1 for simple elements like condition connector, history, ... would suffice.

    This RFE will be considered under the larger project of the Rhapsody GUI and Diagram editors modernization program.

    To clarify: We want this for all types of relationships between model elements - (dependencies, aggregations, ...) not only the "connector" model element.
