NAFv4 Profile

As a System Architect I need to describe my system architecture in conformity to the NATO Architecture Framework v4 in order to deliver the model to government defense agencies.

In the defense domain, the use of the NATO NAF architecture framework is highly recommended. In version 4, NAF accepts the data model of the UAFv2 framework. Providing a NAFv4 profile built on the UAFv2 profile would be beneficial for program teams wishing to perform their architecture description in Rhapsody.

Context: Government defense agencies are demanding that their industrial partners deliver system architecture models compliant with the NAFv4 framework.

Problem: Rhapsody does not implement a NAFv4 profile

Impact: Rhapsody could not be used by industrial partners as a system architecture modeling tools in the aim of a defense program.

Goal: To implement NAFv4 profile in Rhapsody

Why: To facilitate the creation of views and element compliant with the NAF conventions

How: NAFv4 accepts UAFv2 metamodel as a description language basis. UAFv2 profil is available in Rhapsody which could be extended to propose a NAFv4 profile.
