This portal is to open public enhancement requests against the products and services belonging to IBM Sustainability Software. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,

Thanks for raising the idea in Aha.
We have conducted a review on this. The Envizi API solution allows existing clients to retrieve emissions by running an API data call to Envizi, and emission values are generally available in several key envizi api reports, such as the 'Monthly Data Summary' report. More information on the Envizi API can be found here:
https://knowledgebase.envizi.com/home/envizi-api-overview
The idea to establish a carbon emission calculation API with direct data input from users is great. However the challenge with this function is that it may lead to inappropriate disclosure of propertary emission factor values, such as IEA factors, for which IBM has commercial non-disclosure agreement with the factor provider. Although emission factors will not be directly revealed to the end user, but through reverse calculations, it is possible for these values to be worked out and it is not obtained within the Envizi platform itself.
At the moment we are onboarding several additional factor providers and we will review the idea again in a future time, together with a condieration of market demand.
