Thank you for your submission. Within the new operational dashboards delivered in MAS Manage the long description is available initially in several of the cards and we will continue to expand as new dashboards are released.
Stephanie, in the meantime, you could still add the h LD to the layout table and maintain it as I mentioned above. Then, you could create a single page app that lists the layouts and their LD. You could also add a quick link for easy access. If that all seems useful and you get that to work, it would be a matter of some thought to build an appropriate data restriction or the like to limit the list to only relevant rows.
Thank you for your research Steve, and to you, Lisa, for your consideration as a future enhancement to the new operational dashboards. I have seen this type of feature available in third-party BI tools, but would prefer to use standard Maximo functionality whenever possible.
Hi - reset to Future Consideration - team will look at accommodating this request in our new operational dashboards
Hi Stephanie, I seem to have missed that bit. I did some research but could not find a way to display the long description once it was associated and added to the display name field. The best I can think of for now is to create an app based on the Layout object where this info could be shown.
Hi Steve. I would like to add a long description to the portlet Display Name of each Result Set or KPI to enter a definition or more details about what the data represents for the users' reference.
Hi Stephanie, I believe it is the SCCONFIG app page that you want to modify (add a lookup property of LONGDESC to the Display Name (Description) column. (I am assuing that is the Display Name you want to add the long description too?)
Hi Lisa, Thank you for the information. After adding the long description in DB config, do I have to modify the RSCONFIG form in Application Designer?
Hi - this is configurable . You can go to DB config and change description (title display name) to have a long description. And, SCCONFIG is a an app that can be modified via app designer if needed.
