This portal is to open public enhancement requests against the products and services belonging to IBM Sustainability Software. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Current situation: If a new stream or component in SCM will be created SCM does not check if the same stream or component name already exists in the PA. This could lead to confusion for the SCM users.
Required situation/Proposal: It is requested that SCM checks the name for existing stream or component names and prompts to enter a unique name (or gives at least a warning for the creator of the stream or component).
Remark: Due to M. Stadlbauer there is at least an option to activate a check of component names.
The response from IBM side for unique stream names:
Ultimately this would seem to be a question for product management at the ELM level.
It would have to be an RFE from the ELM level product management to require all streams everywhere to conform
The attached picture shows how the check "Ensure Component Names are Unique" can be activated in the PA configuration. This check blocks the creation of new component if component(s) with the same name are already available in the PA.
