The connection between DOORS Client and DOORS Server is prone to outages by the nature of its design.

DOORS Clients contain most of the application logic, DOORS server has the storage abilities. The transfer of new / edited / processed data between the client and the server is one of the core crucial workflows in the product. If these transfers fail, for a variety of reasons, DOORS server typically cannot always undo the entire stream of transactions involved in the failure. Repairs and backup restore efforts are often required. A proper transactional rollback would be far superior to the current mechanism of three-state data files. Admins should also have easy access to failed transactions both for auditing and for interventions.
