Description

DNG ReqIF Export shall export cross component DOORS Next links / cross Project Area DOORS Next links.
Cross component DOORS Next links / cross Project Area DOORS Next links are links that have their link source in the artefacts being exported, and their link target in a different DN Component / DN Project Area than the one currently being exported from.

Motivation / Reason

Using Global Configurations, a user can create DOORS Next links between artefacts in different DOORS Next Components / DOORS Next Project Areas, as long as the source and target configurations for the link are in the same Global Configuration. These links are displayed in DOORS Next similarly to links that have their source and target in the same / current configuration. These links are part of the DOORS Next data.

DOORS Next links within a single configuration (e.g. stream) are exported to ReqIF. User expectation would be that links to other DN PAs / DN Components are also exported to ReqIF.

Currently, DOORS Next ReqIF Export only exports links within a single configuration (e.g. stream).
DOORS Next ReqIF Export does not export cross component links / cross Project Area links (i.e. there is no entry for these links in SPEC-RELATIONS).

There is no limitation in the ReqIF Standard that would prevent the export of cross component links / cross Project Area links.

Cross component links / cross Project Area links are an important feature of DOORS Next that represent important information (e.g. tracability for requirements). If DNG ReqIF Export does not export this information, this important information will be lost on the side that imports the ReqIF.
