Maximo Mobile (Techmobile App) - Ability to perform inspections in a batch from multi assets screen

Why is it Useful?

Efficiency:

  • Time-saving: Performing inspections in batch mode allows users to handle multiple assets simultaneously, reducing the time spent on repetitive tasks.
  • Streamlined Workflow: Simplifies the inspection process by consolidating multiple inspections into a single action, improving overall workflow efficiency.

Consistency:

  • Standardization: Ensures that inspections across multiple assets are performed uniformly, reducing the chances of errors or omissions.
  • Data Integrity: Improves the accuracy and consistency of inspection data by minimizing manual entry errors.

Productivity:

  • Increased Throughput: Allows inspectors to complete more inspections within the same timeframe, boosting overall productivity.
  • Resource Optimization: Enables better allocation of resources by reducing the need for repeated visits to the same location.

User Satisfaction:

  • Simplified Process: Reduces the complexity of the inspection process, making it more user-friendly and less time-consuming.
  • Improved Morale: Less repetitive work and a more streamlined process can lead to higher job satisfaction among inspectors.

Who Would Benefit from It?

Field Inspectors:

  • Maintenance Technicians: Can inspect multiple assets in a single trip, saving time and effort.
  • Safety Inspectors: Can efficiently conduct safety checks across multiple assets, ensuring compliance.

Asset Managers:

  • Facility Managers: Can ensure that all assets within a facility are inspected regularly and consistently.
  • Operations Managers: Can optimize inspection schedules and improve asset management.

Administrative Staff:

  • Data Analysts: Can easily access comprehensive inspection data for multiple assets, facilitating better analysis and reporting.
  • Compliance Officers: Can ensure that all regulatory inspections are completed efficiently and on time.

How Should It Work?

User Interface:

  • Multi-Asset Screen: Provide a screen where users can view and select multiple assets for inspection.
  • Filter and Search: Include filtering and search capabilities to help users quickly find the assets they need to inspect.

Batch Selection:

  • Select/Deselect All: Allow users to select or deselect all assets with a single click.
  • Checkboxes: Provide checkboxes next to each asset for individual selection.

User Permissions:

  • Access Control: Ensure that only authorized users can perform batch inspections.

I would advise to have the batch available when it is already on the workorder using the mxe.app.workorder.InspectionBatchRecord property set to True. this is not the case now, so if the inspections are planned and batched the technician can not start this as a batch from the technician or even workorder tracking application!

Hello Burman! Thanks for submitting this Idea. Would you please provide more information about the use case scenario? I've got similar requests in the past, where the use case was about executing the same inspection against multiple assets, and each asset would be a column in the inspection form, so the inspector could look at many assets in a route within a few meters range, and answer the same question (row) for multiple assets (each one in a different column) in the same screen.

I'm thinking the scenario you described is a bit different, but I'm still not able to capture the essence here. Would you please illustrate how the UI flow would be? This is what I understood from your scenario:

    1. User will start an unscheduled inspection process where they came to the working site without a WO, and has to inspect multiple assets in the same location/area

    2. User opens Mobile, clicks on "+" icon and selects Create Unscheduled Inspection option

    3. User selects multiple assets from the Assets list

    4. User selects one inspection form

    5. Batch is created so that multiple assets will be inspected with the same form

Is this accurate? Would it be possible to select multiple forms as well?
