How it works today
During the Planning/Scheduling phase, Graphical Scheduling is used to decide whether work orders can be executed based on resource and crew availability.
The Graphical Scheduling calculates availability by dealing with Calendar/Shift/Modify Availability of resources (this functionality for crew is missing).
The system does not consider if resources or crews are already assigned to other work orders that are external to the Scheduling project.
Sample scenario
For example: if in the organization there are 5 electricians and the work orders of the Scheduling project require 3 electricians for a specific date, the system will show an availability of 5 (multiplied by shift hours), but if 3 of these electricians are assigned to other work orders for the same date, the actual availability should be 2 for that date.
How should it work and why is it useful?
The system should calculate the availability of resources also considering the assignments to other work orders external to the project and it should consider the Modify Availability also for crews.
This will be useful for the planner who is informed of the real availability of the resources/crews and not just their total amount.

Highly recommend this idea, as its presenting 'false resource availability' by not considering the assigned work outside the schedule. Would prefer to consider this as a product defect.
Also, the online documentation should have clearly mentioned this as a limitation in existing releases. Otherwise, client or any one would think it should consider.
