As a technician, you should be able to have access to children work orders if the parent work order is assigned to you.
The child work order could have important information that the technician needs to perform his work. This is extra important if an organization has built their rounds using a work order hierarchy, and have instructions for each round stop on the child work order.
The technician should be able to complete his round stop in the same manner he does if the round stop was a work order task.

I have implemented this kind of stuff for a customer. I just inserted a route icon in the Workorder list view. This icon only appears on Workorder which have child Workorders. If the customer clicks this item an search is automatically build up (using similar the same JavaScript functionality as in the original search of the product) showing all Sub-Workorders in the resulting set. So the customer can work on this list and the list remains until he selects a different view.
In addition I added a Field ParentWO in the List and in the details view of a workorder.
I'm getting confused with this request. If you want the user to have the route stops act as tasks then choose that radio button back on the route. Also, if you have generated the route stops as child work orders, then they are individually assigned to someone. If that is that same person, then they will get all of them in sequence if you have done this correct. You can only work on one route stop at a time. Have you looked at the Inspection app instead of the Work Execution app as it's designed for quick completion of a route scenario.
