Support URL scheme for Maximo Mobile Application

Applications can register a URL scheme/protocol (such as maxmobile) that when invoked from a web browser or another application that it would launch another application. iOS documentation here: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/xcode/defining-a-custom-url-scheme-for-your-app but all the platforms support it.

The app can then handle and process the request, such as launching a particular app inside of our application & potentially even open a specific record. IE maxmobile:techmobile?wonum=1234 could launch the Technician application and navigate to WO 1234. In other scenarios, we potentially could even have it execute an action such as creating a new WO (maxmobile:techmobile?page=createwo). Then the user could enter the necessary details of the WO.

This link capability allows organizations that might be using other applications to incorporate Maximo Mobile into their process flows. For example, some organizations might utilize safety software that is outside of Maximo. Or ERP software, reporting tools (PowerBI), or even email such as an escalation sending a communication when work is overdue. There are many scenarios where it could be beneficial to open Maximo Mobile for a record.

    Hi Steven

I believe the only gap is really the "deep link" into Maximo Mobile really, since this capability from a browser perspective already exists.

    /maximo/oslc/graphite/techmobile/index.html#/workOrderDetails?wonum=1609&siteid=BEDFORD

In this example, techmobile is the app, workOrderDetails is the page and wonum/siteid are parameters for you to launch.

maximo/oslc/graphite/techmobile/index.html#/createwo would work to launch the work order creation page.

This functionality is absolutely critical for work at Schlumberger, having MAS mobile called from another app means MAS mobile is critical to overall business processes which means thousands of new users and that equals millions $$$ in 2023 for SLB to upgrade to MAS. Need it.
