Restrict the work order status change to Inprogress- without having a ready clearance (safety issue)

Safety in Maintenance/operations is of utmost importance in Nuclear indsutry. Having a Clearance ready with all tags applied- followed by work order execution would ensure safety in maintenance.

If a workorder has clearance requirement, it should stop the workorder without letting it move to Inprogress status. system should display a message that work cannot be executed as the clearance is not ready yet.

After having the Clearance associated and in READY status (with all tags applied)- workorder can move forward to inprogress.

This ensures safety boundary is established before starting the work execution.


Benefits:

Safety in maintenance. Workorder cannot be executed without having safety boundary established.

    Thank you for this idea. The ability to restrict status changes in Work Order Tracking can be accommodated with already available Maximo features. This link describes the ability to use either Work Flow, Flow Control or Field Level controls to restrict the progression of work: https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/workflow-v-flow-control-v-field-control
