IE is required to open the list of IM installed packages and will be retired by Microsoft on June 15, 2022, there is a need an alternative way to open the list of IM installed packages.

IE is required to open the list of IM installed packages (As it is less secure opening local files) Internet Explorer 11 will be retired by Microsoft on June 15, 2022, so there is a need for an alternative way to properly open the list of IM installed packages. Using any other browsers (Included Edge in IE compatibility mode) requires configuration tweaking to open local files, and this is considered as a potential security issue.

We expect a future version of the IBM Installation Manager to address this issue by removing the existing Internet Explore dependency. Until then you can view the installed packages by either using the command ???~\IBM\Installation Manager\eclipse\tools>imcl listInstalledPackages -features -long" on the Command Prompt/Terminal or by using the ???View List of Installed Packages' option available in the ???Installation Manager' as in the attachment

Can you provide more information? Have you observed this problem, or is it "theoretical"? If so...
    1. What specifically did you see?
    2. With what version of the ELM installer and what MS Windows server or client operating system?
    3. Note that the IE application is being sunset but not the embedded IE runtime[1]. Did you have the embedded IE runtime on your system?

Q: Is Internet Explorer 11 the last version of Internet Explorer?
A: Yes, Internet Explorer 11 is the last major version of Internet Explorer. The Internet Explorer 11 desktop application will go out of support for certain operating systems starting June 15, 2022…
For supported operating systems, Internet Explorer 11 will continue receiving security updates and technical support for the lifecycle of the Windows version on which it is installed.

Q: What if my enterprise line-of-business (LOB) application has a dependency on a version of Internet Explorer that reached end of support?
A: Microsoft is committed to supporting Internet Explorer mode in Microsoft Edge through at least 2029, on supported operating systems. Additionally, Microsoft will provide a minimum of one year notice prior to end of support for IE mode. Windows support dates are documented on the Product Lifecycle page and may require an Extended Security Update (ESU) license, if available, to receive operating system security updates beyond its End of Support date.

Q: What is Microsoft's guidance if customers run an application that depends on specific Internet Explorer runtime DLLs?
A: Microsoft will release security updates only for the latest version of Internet Explorer for each Windows operating system. Customers must install the latest version of Internet Explorer to update the Internet Explorer runtime DLLs, receive updates, and remain in a supported configuration.

Q: If a customer has turned off the Internet Explorer feature but has third-party software that uses Internet Explorer runtime DLLs, how can the Internet Explorer runtime DLLs be updated?
A: If customers need an update to the Internet Explorer runtime DLLs, they must install the latest version of Internet Explorer (IE11) to update the runtime DLLs. After doing so they will continue to receive security updates.

From my point of view it could be also a solution to create a single result in one pdf file or one html file - instead of two files (xml+xsl) to load, which causes the problem on other browsers with their security settings
