rename a project area that has OSLC associations to project areas in other applications.

Renaming a project area does not rename the associations in remote applicationsIf an OSLC association exists between the project areas of two different applications and a user has a role that allows them to rename the project area.

It is possible for a user to rename a project area that has OSLC associations to project areas in other applications. If the user performing the operation is not a member of the project area linked via OSLC association, the association will not get renamed. This causes confusion when reviewing the associations of the remote project areas, as they will refer to the renamed project area by it's original name.

Additional info:

Development will be closing APAR PH56035 as a duplicate of an older, similar APAR PM89527. That older defect was recently reviewed by development and due to the substantial rework that would be required to accommodate dynamic project area names in the way process areas are saved, it is unlikely that a solution will ever be implemented. As such, the minor issue of two ends of a project area association not showing the same name (in the specific scenario of a user reaming a project area at one end, but not having any admin rights in the project area at the other end) will remain in the tool.

As part of the review process, we strive to be transparent about our intentions with each enhancement suggestion. The IBM Engineering team has carefully reviewed this idea, and based on our understanding, it does not fit our near-term plans. Although we are closing this request, it will be kept in IBM's ideas repository.  We value your feedback and thank you for allowing us to partner with you in developing our products.
