Include notifications to users for different purposes (see description)

Notifications:

a) When any user within the organization inputs data or makes modifications.

b) When a contributor has been assigned a DR or datapoint (when the latter is possible in the near future).

c) To contributors when the DR have been marked as “ready for review”.

d) When somebody replies to a comment in the “comment” field (this comes with the possibility to tag people).

e) To assignees when reviewers send the DR for approval.

It would be useful to have the possibility to send out a notification based on either individual contributor / assignee / reviewer and per specific DR and datapoint.

It is essential that the users (assignees, reviewers, contributors, approvers and admins) receive notifications for the mentioned purposes to reduce inefficiencies and facilitate users to access directly the action that needs attention from them. All businesses would benefit from this.

Thanks for this feedback! We have built email notifications for the following scenarios when the Include Notification button is ticked in the Disclosure Property - when an SRM user is assigned to a question, when a response is ready for action, when due dates are approaching, to name a few. For more information see https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/envizi-esg-suite?topic=disclosure-sending-email-notifications

    (a) We see that emailing for every change in input with no action required may cause flooding and render more critical email notifications ineffective. We may need to validate the need for this one over other types of email notifications. That said, it could potentially be taken up when we start pursuing a more central 'Notification center' within SRM.

    (b) This email notification is already available as Contributors get notifications on assignment

    (c) Similar to point (a), Contributors don't get email notifications for actions without call to action, as there are no actions required of them when a response is marked Ready for Review. However, they will get notifications if a response is pushed back to 'To Do' or 'In Progress'

    (d) Comment tagging and notification is in our backlog but is not in the roadmap for the next two quarters. We will update this ticket once that becomes part of the roadmap.

    (e) Similar to point (c), Assignees don't get 'for info' notifications / notifications without C2A.

While we understand it is great for users to be notified of all important activities, we see it paramount that critical email notifications that require action be sent out over 'for info' notifications to reduce the amount of flooding in one's inbox. A more comprehensive notification center will be evaluated and kept in our backlog for all other activities.
