Load mechanism for Vendors’ Hours, Material, Services and Tools costs

Load mechanism for Vendors’ Hours, Material, Services and Tools costs - specification files describing amount of hours (person, skill level, craft rate) + which Services, Materials or Tools have been used on a specific WO - should eliminate typing in multiple lines - check/uncheck all or some lines for batch approval (and possible automated receipting) or... - ...have automation to process all valid lines and create a log tab showing the ones not processable Being the contractor, who handles several hundreds of WOs on monthly basis, he needs to add x amount of materials, services and tools to each WO. In parallel, he needs to feed-in spent hours on different technicians having multiple roles in combination with date for work performed on each WO. Some materials could be from stock but mostly, he goes to the whole sales company and purchase the necessary items. End of the month, the contractor has numerous invoices from the whole sales company. These must be added to each individual WO in Maximo. A load mechanism is needed to be able to load such data in a structured way. E.g. by utilizing the Desktop Requisition.

Just a bit more to the Idea.

In Aug. 2024 IBM Support has done a terrific job and have shown us how to batch upload many labor lines across multiple work orders, which will save us many hours on monthly basis, since such are manually typed in today.

Saying that, Maximo Data Loader is (still) handheld and might make some users not to choose such solution.

Thanks, IBM, for doing initial review.

My idea has been created two years ago and at Sund & Bælt we have progressed quite a bit since. No later than spring 2024 we have requested a bit of help from IBM Support (support case TS015534557) to utilize the Maximo Data Loader to create desktop requisitions in batches. The solution includes uploading of documents (typically PDF copies of invoices from whole sales companies) to each individual MR line as well as approving the created desktop requisitions in one go as well.

The solution is still a bit handheld (Maximo Data Loader is handheld), but feel free to reach out to see what we have and perhaps get inspired. I'm pretty sure other MAS customers will benefit from such solution.

What we haven't found a solution for yet is how we batch upload the contractor's many hours spent on various WOs within a month. Indeed a solution for that would save us many administrative hours each month, since we type in all these hours manually.

Anyway, feel free to reach out.

    Kind regards,

    /Michael
