This portal is to open public enhancement requests against the products and services belonging to IBM Sustainability Software. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Hi Christopher, Thank you for taking the time to provide your ideas to IBM. Your idea was delivered in our July 2023 TRIRIGA 11.5 / 4.5 product release.
See link for release details: https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/system/files/inline-files/IBM_TRIRIGA_Release_Notes_for_11.5_and_4.5_0.pdf
Thank you again for your feedback.
Christopher, Thank you for taking the time to provide your ideas to IBM. Our team has evaluated your idea and we will leave it here and review periodically for possible inclusion in a future release. You can encourage others to show support by voting on this idea. Thank you again for your feedback.
Chris,
Thanks for your additional feedback. I will look into some of these questions. On point of clarification that the embedded browser either IE or Edge isn't something we would distribute with CI it is embedded by the operating system inside the Autodesk client, so the change I was proposing would use the edge that was already installed.
Josh
Hi Josh,
Moving from IE to Edge is a great step in the right direction, since the use of IE is already constrained and will become more constrained in the next few months.
You asked if switching to Edge would enable me to turn off the restriction for pop-ups. I am unsure how I could control that restriction in an embedded browser. By default, our Edge implementation is configured to block all pop-ups. While the opportunity exists to add our authenticator site to the list of allowed pop-ups, this would be a manual entry for our CAD user groups. Additionally, I am unsure if the embedded Edge with CI Edge would share the same settings. Would there be configuration settings available to us to control the behavior of the embedded Edge browser pop-ups?
Also, the embedded Edge has the potential to cause other issues. How often is the embedded browser updated? How quickly are patches available when zero-day fixes are released?
It would seem the best solution would be one that utilizes the Edge deployed to our desktops (as opposed to any separate version distributed with CI) and one that does not utilize pop-ups (if possible).
We would certainly be willing to evaluate any combination short of this, as the pain points grow in our current circumstances. Apologies for the 20 questions. Just trying to understand the full environment.
Hi Cristopher,
We would like some additional information on your idea and the current limitations. We do have in our backlog plans to update CAD Integrator and the BIM Connector to use embedded Edge instead of Internet Explorer. Would that enable you to turn off the restriction for pop-ups and potentially provide a path forward on this?
