External Variable type/kind for Document Builder should allow other type then String

When defining external variable for RRDG we can refer to:
https://jazz.net/wiki/bin/view/Main/RRCCustomRRDGReportsConfigurations

I want the equivalent for Document Builder.
Is there a way to have other format then String for the user to enter, like a check box, etc?

    As part of the review process, we strive to be transparent about our intentions with each idea suggestion. The IBM Engineering team has reviewed the idea, and based on our understanding, it is accepted as an uncommitted candidate.

    If the template require a Boolean of a Date.

    Boolean : Print Public Only, Debug Mode, ...

    Date :  ReviewDate, BeforeDateStamp

    They are entered has a free Sting: 

    Boolean: t,f, false,False,TRUE,THRUE

    Date: 12-31-24, 2024/12/31

    It make the template harder to implement to make sure the user entered the correct format

    It make the user experience more complicated, a boolean should just be a check box, a date a calendar to pick a date.

    RRDG allows that, Doc Builder also

     

    Use Case

    Print comment: Boolean

    Put change bars on artifact modified after a specified date: Date

    After further discussion with development, we need addition information. Could you provide us actual use case how this would be used? Also, how would you envision this to be provided to the user in the PUB Document Builder?
