Predefine task dates when capturing data

If you click on “Capture data” in the task, the dates are set up automatically to the time period requested in the task to avoid records with different time frames in reporting campaigns.

    A new setting is available under Admin->Issue Settings to align Start and End dates on the Capture Data form to the dates on a Data Capture Issue

    We have reviewed this request and plan to introduce a setting to allow clients to choose whether the dates will be populated from the data capture request or from the account's historical data. We are targeting to deliver this by the end of the quarter.

    We understand that this is not a core functionality of the issues, but we have a pressing need to implement it in order to optimize our process. Currently, to use the sustainability report dashboard in Power BI, specific issues have been created to load data from “social”-type accounts. It is essential that all records use the exact same date range defined in the data capture associated with the corresponding issue.

    At present, since the dates are not automatically populated, a very costly manual review is required. Moreover, if the dates do not match, the data does not integrate correctly into the report.

    Therefore, we request that when clicking “Capture data,” the system automatically fills in the date range defined in the issue. This functionality is a priority to ensure automation and high-quality sustainability reporting.

    Please find attached a screenshot of the type of issue where we would like the same date range from the open issue to be automatically applied.

    Thank you for raising this idea. The prefilled Start and End Date for a new account record is currently based on the last record for the account. The Start Date will be the day after the last date of record data, and the End Date will reflect the same duration as the previous record (e.g., 3 months if the last record was for 3 months).
    While we understand that it would be helpful for the dates to be populated from the Data Capture request issue, there are scenarios where this may not align with the frequency of data capture for the account (e.g., request is for a 12-month period, but the data is typically captured quarterly based on actual invoice dates).
    We are looking at enhancements to Data Capture Issues as part of a user experience refresh and will consider if there are scenarios where we can pre-fill the dates using the period in the request.
