Attachments from issues and issue comments not showing on the reports

When generating the reports about attachments, “Attachment Summary” or “Invoice Attachments Extract”, the attachments that were added to the issues or issue comments are not included. It would be useful to the users to see where is available all the attachments including the mentioned ones.

    We are pleased to advise that attachments linked to issues should now be visible in the Attachment Summary report. Please try this out and let us know if it meets your requirements. Thanks for raising this enhancement request and helping us to improve the product!

    Thank you for providing this additional context on the requirement. We have raised this requirement with our development team to add the attachments linked to issues to the Attachment Summary report. We expect this should be possible and will update the idea status when confirmed and scheduled.

    However attachments linked to issues cannot be exported via the invoice attachment extract report as this report only returns attachments linked directly to records. We will consider instead whether there is a more general solution we can provide for clients to access attachments linked to any entity (e.g., an attachments browse grid). This second part is something we can consider as part of our UX refresh in 2026.

    We have noticed that when generating reports related to attachments, such as the “Attachment Summary” or the “Invoice Attachments Extract,” the attachments added in issue comments are not included. For us, it is often easier to attach files in comments rather than directly to the account, especially since there is no simple way to attach multiple files to an account.

    Sometimes, when capturing data, users can forget to include the attachment, and since the system does not block duplicate entries with the same date, we end up creating a new record with the attachment included. Other times, we just leave the evidence in the comments. This causes multiple records and inconsistent data.

    Therefore, we would like a specific report to be created that includes attachments from comments, similar to the existing reports for attachments properly linked to issues. We believe this functionality would be useful not only for our case but also for situations where there are multiple comments on the same issue, facilitating follow-up and tracking.

    Thank you for raising this idea. While we understand there may be value in having visibility of attachments linked to issue comments, these attachments are sometimes screenshots shared while investigating an issue and not always intended to be a permanent record in the same way as attachments linked to account items.

    Could you provide some examples of the types of issues and attachments that you would like to see included in reports? If this primarily relates to missing invoices that should be linked to account records we could consider an alternative solution to allow the attachment uploaded to the issue comment to be linked to an account record which would get reported as normal.
