Duplicate Workorder - Better ability to control how Job Plan revisions are handled

Current functionality is inadequate. When you duplicate a WO the revision is carried over leading to old/inactive/no longer valid or complying with regulations to be carried over.  See the IBM Case file for more information.

 

I have a couple of thoughts on how we could guide IBM on adding/fixing the functionality in the order I would recommend.

  1. Combo of the 2 items below: Allow the user to select what job plan revision to use if in an interactive session and utilize the system property if duplicate is done through none interactive session (automation script, WF, actions, API calls, etc.)
    1. Read below for more information.
  2. Give the users more control allowing them to select what job plan revision should be used when duplicating the work order (Showing the active one at the top) [Order by status and then revision]
    1. When duplicate WO is selected display a dialog of what job plan/ revision combination should be used on the duplicate Workorder
  3. Have a system property that identifies when duplicating a work order it should use the existing job plan revision on the workorder or use the most recent active job plan revision
    1. Defaulting to using the active job plan revision currently approved in the system.
