Revised Routes should auto-update work orders

In Sund & Bælt, PM generated work orders are typically generated 6-9 months ahead depending on the specific operations area. Of course, the Asset Operations Manager (AOM) includes his plans for reinvestment and replacing assets when he requests the Maximo SME to start the work order generation based on PMs. However, sometimes reality differs from this and replacing assets, optimizing on Routes, etc. calls for a revision of one or more Routes. Having suggested in another IBM Idea to implement revision control on Routes (IBM Idea MASM-I-947), the next step is to be able to automatically update route stop changes to already generated work orders, so that work to come isn’t done on wrong assets.

As an Asset Operations Manager, I kindly ask to have Maximo Manage to offer me the possibility to auto-correct PM generated – but not performed yet – work orders after a revision of the Route, so that I’m sure that generated work orders will scope the correct assets (Route stops).

This option will enable me to filter on which of my already generated work orders should be auto-adjusted:

• work orders having scheduled start after a certain date

• work orders with certain work order types

• Work orders with certain work order statuses

• work orders within a certain operational area

    Thank you for the submission. We may consider this feature in a future release but will initially focus on adding status (active/inactive) to the Routes application.
