An emergency work order is not planned, technician investigates and deems a part is needed and if using Maximo Mobile raises and approves a Material Request which creates a reservation, and if Organization setting may also automatically create an Inventory Usage record. There is no visibility of this to the supervisor using Work Order Tracking.
In general, there ought to be a way of being able to view all reservations and all Inventory Usage records in a similar way to the ability to View PO Information so that if a reservation creates an Inventory Usage it does not show as a reservation but as an Inventory Usage record. This would also be useful at completion of work order to understand what materials are being reserved, or where Inventory Usage record is created, but is not being picked up from stores. When this happens a lot, it is a waste of effort, and adjustments (perhaps to job plan) should be made.

This sounds like a good idea.
I also couldn't help but to plug Maximo MRO-Inventory Optimisation solution on this thread as it specifically caters to maintenance inventory and helps avoid situations where there is a breakdown, the work can be executed as technicians are ready, but there is no spare parts/stock...
