Ability to automatically associate companies with organization on creation of new company or new organization

Add the option for shared company sets to be managed the same way as shared item sets. Currently if you share a company set between organizations and you want all organizations to have access to the all of the active companies, when you create a new organization you have to go into the company master and add each company to the new organization. Also, when you create a new company you have to add it to all organizations.

While this ability should be maintained, as it does work when you only want each organization to have access to a subset of the companies, it is very user intensive and open the possibility for duplicate companies when the complete set of companies is to be shared across all organizations.

The behavior of the item set automatically adds the items to the organization, with the status of the default Item Status from the organization record when a new organization is created. This option should be available for company sets as well, to improve efficiencies for customers that potentially create multiple new organization each year.

I understand and appreciate the intent the problem, but you want to have control over which companies are used by an organization. Yes they are shared at the set level, but you may not want them to be automatically shared to the org(s). It's like with item, they too exist at set level, but you have to deliberately share them to the site...and thus the org.

It has never made sense to me why they would structure Item Sets in one way and Company Sets in another. There should not be a "Master Company" record. If a Vendor is shared across Organizations in a given Company Set, there should only be one record defining that Vendor, not one for each Organization that can potentially have different Names. While some information (e.g. - GLs) might need to differ by Org, that should be handled similar to the ItemOrgInfo.

Since my clients have all had a single Organization, we have been able to work around the issue by checking the "Automatically Add Companies to Company Master?" checkbox for the Company Set record in the Sets application which allows us to ignore the existence of the "Master Companies" application.
