This portal is to open public enhancement requests against the products and services belonging to IBM Sustainability Software. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

It would be helpful to users if we could give a user-facing notification in the Mobile Inspections application when the action would result in the creation of a duplicate work order when the user clicks the automation script action. The notification should prompt the user to decide whether a new work order should be created.
In the web you can set set the DISPLAYMESSAGE field which would be displayed when the user clicks the automation script action. But in Maximo Mobile, this is not currently possible. As a result, inspections that are created daily will create duplicate work orders daily until the initial work order is completed.
This issue can be mitigated via autoscript on sync, but doing so deprives the user of choice. Sometimes, what appears to be a duplicate work order is actually a separate and distinct issue requiring a separate work order (to be assigned to a different team, for example).

As part of the review process, we strive to be transparent about our intentions with each enhancement suggestion. This is a tricky one, since automation scripts are executed server side and display message is set through the script. When in a connected mode and IF the decides to wait for the script to execute, potentially we can introduce a synchronous transaction and make the user wait for the server response. I'll keep it for future consideration. We value your feedback and thank you for allowing us the privilege of partnering with you in developing our products.
