I would like System messages that I have tied to automation scripts in native Maximo to pop up as they do in the web-application in EAM Maximo Mobile. It would help our process a lot, allowing for a better user experience, better data coming from our technicians and add more customization ability to mobile app. We have many conditions tied to our work orders based on priority and type to require certain fields that are not necessary for smaller priority's. In the web-based application, they are triggered before save so they no to include another field and the dialog shows up in their face stopping them before they make any more changes. While in mobile our technician may make an entire work-order on mobile then may be forced to delete it once errors pop up after it is saved. The errors also just stack on each other which can be very over-whelming for those who aren't tech savvy.

As part of the review process, we strive to be transparent about our intentions with each enhancement suggestion. The offering team has carefully reviewed this idea and has decided that it does not fit into our current plans, so the idea will be closed. The Mobile tool provide, as part of the Maximo Application Framework, tools for you to configure similar rules that would work for the mobile applications. Remember that Mobile is intended for offline support and a subset of the data would be available in the mobile device and the entire flow works out of local data. You can use MAF tools to revisit/rewrite the rules you have server side for Mobile and anticipate the validations that might cause the data to be rejected, but Mobile is asynchronous and will never send a transaction and hold the UI until the server responds due to its offline nature.
