Use case:
Customer has many contractors performing work across multiple retail outlets & the contractors range from small “mom & pop” operations to large contractors with offices & teams across the country.
For the larger contractors, they support multiple customers & may be required to use/access the individual customer’s Maximo Mobile application.
Problem:
Maximo Mobile only allows a single instance of the app to be deployed on the mobile device. This becomes an issue when the contractor is required to access 2 or more Maximo environments (each belonging to a different customer).
When switching customer accounts, a reset of Maximo Mobile is required meaning that a full sync needs to happen each time which is impractical especially when the contractor is in the field due to the time it takes to perform a full sync each time & the availability of connectivity (they may not have internet access).
Suggestion:
Either have the ability to deploy multiple copies of the Maximo Mobile app onto a single device (1 for each customer instance); or
Have the ability to store & switch between multiple accounts.
We may also have to consider the issue of different customer instances having different app configurations (ie. Layout & customisations).
