Maximo Mobile - Ability to manually enable offline mode

Request for the capability to manually turn on offline mode across all aspects of Maximo Mobile (Technician, Inspection .etc). This is a significant issue for Australian customers due to poor, intermittent connectivity (fringe reception), and I understand took a significant period of time to be added to Maximo Anywhere. While it is understood Mobile has been re-architected to access the local database first, and to query the server in an unobstructive manner, adding this button would; 1. Provide confidence to users of Anywhere in Australia that the same fail-safe capability exists in Maximo Mobile 2. Provide a workaround to any issues identified in fringe reception; those currently identified render the app unusable 3. Assist with minimising battery drain, caused by the app frequently and repeatedly polling an inaccessible server For context, see attached screenshot of a speedtest conducted close to my home - this location has one bar of 3G which is sufficient for calls and texts, but often yields no data throughput. In this scenario, applications 'think' they are online, but we need to be able to force them to go offline.

    Any issue related to online/offline scenarios not being handled properly by the app and impacting the user experience will be treated as a defect through the support portal

    Hi Vinicius,

    Currently Users are advised to toggle off Cellular Data or Mobile Data (depending on iOS version) in iPhone settings. Would be better if they could do this from the app itself.

    Background:

    The users are currently advised to turn the cellular data off from the device settings when they are heading to fringe reception areas where the network is likely to be poor. However, it would be good if they could be given the option to turn the Mobile data off just for the app so they can continue to access other apps without any issues. If the device data is left ON, the app seems to be confused to know what to do in low poor network connectivity. This introduces different issues based on variable network scenarios.
