On platforms using gcc the code for library Share\WebServices fails to build with recent versions, e.g. gcc 15.2. New versions of gcc does not accept Kernighan & Ritchie code style As a _quick_ workaround I have fixed the compile process by ad...

Rhapsody API should allow an element to be resized without affecting child elements

When the user resizes a model element on a diagram in the UI, elements inside that element are resized as well. If the user holds down the ALT key, only the desired element is resized and child elements on that diagram are unaffected. There is no ...

Improve loading time of Remote artifacts

Loading artifacts in Rhapsody takes sometimes a very long time, and also no real feedback or progress bar is provided. In general also the RMM connection almost doubles the loading times of models on the client side, as measured in our projects. R...
over 1 year ago in IBM Engineering - Systems Design Rhapsody/RMM / Integrations and APIs 1 Future consideration

I'd like to have a comprehensive document on Rhapsody's code generating capabilities, i.e. what diagarms / model elements generate code.

Introduction of a RHP/RMM API method to retrieve the active global configuration (GC) for RMM-enabled rhapsody model

Currently, we have the setGlobalConfiguration method available, but there is no direct method to fetch the active GC . As a workaround, we are using project.getRmmUrl() which returns a URL (e.g.,https://abc.com/am/resource-rmm/2963548?oslc_config....

Context : We are developing more and more in product lines and we need to merge automatically statecharts in Rhapsody models by updating graphical elements of the diagram through the API. Problem : No operation to get a statechart "and line" pos...

Official support for MSYS2 as alternative to Cygwin & MinGW and allow for clang as an alternative compiler to gcc

MSYS2 (https://www.msys2.org) is a Cygwin clone but with a less restrictive license for core components (LGPL instead of GPL). It provides also MinGW support with different environments, i.e. combinations of toolchain / architecture / C(++)-librar...

Rhapsody’s documentation should be clarified for the RhpPluginCleanup and RhpFinalPluginCleanup API call.

Rhapsody’s documentation uses “Close” in the description of RhpFinalPluginCleanup and uses “Exit” in the description of RhpFinalPluginCleanup. Several people at our company as well as the IBMers and a consultant all assumed “Close” is called when ...

Harmonize TableLayout user defined method options "Set plugin method" and "Edit implementation"

Currently the two options to provide user defined methods in a TableLayout are not offering the same set of features. Which makes the option "Set plugin method" less useful as it could be. E.g. implementing a set functionality for a column is prov...

It would be very usefull if pointer types could be defined in argumments

Pointer / reference type is widely used in C/C++ programs, so Rhapsody should also support this. It would highly improve the efficiency of the generated code.
