Envizi's position is that we offer 2 models for multi-company organizations. Each comes with pros and cons. One of the main limitations of the single organization model with groups representing different businesses is that top-down administrative features that would impact the entire organization (custom factors, virtual data rules, etc) cannot be made available to group level administrators (no feature that can impact users outside that group can be opened up to group level admins).
Other administrative features that can be made available to an administrator of one group without impacting another group (such as bulk administration of contacts within a group) will be assessed and opened up where possible.
I would suggest that Group Level Custom factors are necessary for corporations with multiple businesses. i believe that admins should have all the functionalities of the organisation level asmins but only pertaining to the groups managed by them. This should include things like password preferences for users within their managed groups and the ability to add users to their managed groups.
Hi Paul, group admins should only be allowed to make changes to the group(s) they are assigned to, and you are right, group level custom factors would likely be needed, with the possibility to switch it on/off depending on the overall organization governance model. They should also be allowed to set up new locations, groups, users, notification contacts and create custom tags with their assigned privileges within the hierarchy, i.e. getting access to the admin menu. Some of these capabilities are available today for a group admin, but with a poor user experience without the admin menu (you can create a copy of existing location and adjust it as a new one, you can create a user on a specific location and make adjustments to that user etc.).
second thought on this... will a group level admin be able to see/modify factors outside of their group. would it be possible for me to modify one of your custom factors despite us being in different groups? what about factors that apply to some groups but not all?
trying to get to how the model will work.
are you envisaging things like group level custom factors? or simply that the group admins should have some of the functions like custom factors?
