Support Multisite Offline Database

Current Challenge:

Technicians often operate across multiple sites, requiring them to:

  • Switch the default site within the mobile application.
  • Manually switch or reload the offline database associated with each site.

This process is cumbersome, time-consuming, and prone to errors, particularly in high-pressure field situations where efficiency is critical.

Proposed Solution: Enhanced Offline Database Configuration

Dynamic Database Profiles:

  • Allow creation and management of multiple offline database profiles, each tied to specific logical sites or work configurations.
  • Profiles could include:
    • Site-specific work orders
    • Asset details
    • Spare parts inventory
    • Historical data

Automatic Profile Switching:

  • Enable technicians to switch profiles dynamically based on location or task.
  • Use triggers such as GPS location, manual input, or scheduled tasks to load the relevant offline database seamlessly.

Selective Synchronization:

  • Introduce finer-grained control over what data is synchronized to offline databases.
  • Allow users to configure synchronization rules, e.g., “Download work orders for sites A and B but only asset data for site C.”

Offline Conflict Management:

  • Provide tools for managing data conflicts that arise from offline modifications before synchronization with the central system.
  • Include a clear review interface for technicians to resolve conflicts.

Improved User Interface:

  • Redesign the mobile app interface for easier switching and management of offline databases.
  • Include visual indicators of the currently active site and database.
