Fix the bug where sorting in the PO -> Copy PR Lines to PO dialog causes data integrity errors.

Good afternoon I was able to replicate this in our OOB Demo environment
App Server IBM WebSphere Application Server 8.5.5.13
Version
Tivoli's process automation engine 7.6.0.9-IFIX20190718-1538 Build 20171127-0100 DB Build V7609-45 HFDB Build HF7609-14
IBM TPAE Integration Framework 7.6.0.9-MIF_7609_IFIX.20190806-1734 Build 20171127-2230 DB Build V7609-32
IBM Maximo Asset Management Scheduler 7.6.7.0 Build 20171127-0100 DB Build V7670-56 HFDB Build HF7670-28
IBM Maximo Asset Management Work Centers 7.6.0.3 Build 20171121-0723 DB Build V7603-175
IBM Maximo for Transportation 7.6.2.4-20190819-0809 Build 20170221-0604 DB Build V7624-02 HFDB Build HF7624-10
IBM Maximo for Oil and Gas 7.6.1.0-20200805-1125 Build 20161020-0803 DB Build V7610-139 HFDB Build HF7610-56
IBM Maximo Asset Management 7.6.0.9 Build 20171127-0100 DB Build V7604-01
Server OS Windows Server 2012 R2 6.3
Server DB Microsoft SQL Server 12.0 (12.00.6433)

The following scenario will copy the PR Lines to the PO but the PR's do not move to a close status as expected (only 1 of the records will).

Steps to replicate

1) Create 3-4 PR's multiple lines with the same 2 item #numers on each PR
2) Create a po from on of the PR's
3) Navigate to the PO (OIL) module
4) Select Copy PR Line ITEMS to
5) in the dialog sort by description (The business is doing this so that it is easier to view the 50 line PO and ensure nothing gets missed during shipping).
6) Select all the lines and click ok on the dialog.

At this time all the lines are on the PO.

However if you look at the equivalent PR's only one of them has moved to a closed status the rest are sitting in APPR status.

Let me know if you have any questions about this.

The expected outcome is all the lines come over in the sort order to the PO and all PR's are closed if all lines are accounted for on PO's.

Thanks

As discussed in the CASE file opened with IBM this would be a " ... a big fix to be under the scope of an APAR and said if you would like this in a future release to open an RFE (Enhancement Request) to have the development team to consider the functionality in a future release."

It would be advised that IBM tests all areas that allow sorting (or could allow sorting) based on the configuration options allowed to customers. This could potentially include any new areas (Maximo Mobile, New Work Centers, etc.)

Can we please open this Idea again Kim

    As per IBM Support

I have received an update from the development team regarding your provided information from Kim Woodbury and was informed again that this can not be fixed in an APAR as it is something that will require major work as confirmed by the system object developers the sorting cannot be overwritten by setOrderBy().

With that information provided, this is something that will be considered in a future release. As you have opened MASSWAT-I-65, others can view it and vote on it as well.

As you have opened the MASSWAT-I-65 request and a work around has been provided I will close this case again with 30 days to reopen if needed for this issue. After 30 days you can open a new Case referencing this Case for history/details.

I would not like this idea to get setup in Limbo and not worked on for future versions.

    Thanks

This should be addressed as an issue. Work with support to reopen the case.
